Science Concert, an Event where R&D Special Zone 

tells about Future Science & Technology!


The Ministry of Science & ICT (Minister: Yoo Youngmin) and R&D Special Zone Promotion 

Foundation (Acting Director: Kim Yongwook, “Special Zone Promotion Foundation”) announced 

that they will hold R&D Special Zone Science Concert* on 24th (Thu) August at Daeduk

 Special Zone (Daejeon-Si) and 26th (Sat) August at Daegu Special Zone. 


   

 * A lecture project which is planned to publicize the R&D Special Zone, a center of

science and technology of Korea and deliver the science & technology culture interestingly

and has been held total 11 times (26 lectures) visiting 5 R&D Special Zones

(Daeduk, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, Jeonbuk) and Seoul from August to October.


At the 1st Science Concert held at Daeduk Business Center on 24th August,

Kim Soyoung, Dean of Graduate School of Science & Technology Policy of KAIST and Jung Changwoo, Executive Director of IBM gave enthusiastic lectures with subject of “the 4th Industrial Revolution” & “Artificial Intelligence (AI)” and received lots of responses 

from over 100 participants.  


At the 2nd Science Concert to be held at Collabo Hall, 1F Floor of Daeduk Tech Business Center

at 7:00 PM on 24th (Thu) August,The Ministry of Science & ICT (Minister: Yoo Youngmin) and 

R&D Special Zone Promotion Foundation (Acting Director: Kim Yongwook, “Special Zone Promotion Foundation”) announced that they will hold R&D Special Zone Science Concert* 

on 24th (Thu) August at Daeduk Special Zone (Daejeon-Si) and 26th (Sat) August 

at Daegu Special Zone. 



 Kwak Byungseong, Director of Korea Institute of Energy Research will give the 1st lecture with subject of “Amazing Exploration of Future by Energy Revolution” and hwang Wonjun,

CEO of MyF will give the 2nd lecture with subject of “Be Prepared for Virtual Reality, Robot

 and New Future”.  



The 3rd Science Concert will be held at Science Tree Hall, 1st Floor of National Daegu Science Center at 2:00 PM on 26th August under the support of National Daegu Science Center.

In the 1st session, Kwak Junmyung (Professor of Department of New Biology of Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology), Leader of Plant Aging Lifespan Research Group of Institute for Basic Science (IBS) will give a lecture with subject of “Meet the Future Science which Brings 

a Dream) and Magician, Lim JongGi, the 4th Chairman of The Korean Magic Society 

will perform ”Science Show together with Magic“ in the 2nd session. 


 

 Especially, the 3rd Science Concert is expected to be a valuable time which both students and parents may enjoy together in the summer vacation.


 Anybody who is interested in science and technology may participate in R&D Special Zone Science Concert at free and apply for participation in the lecture by searching ‘R&D Special Zone Science Concert’ at Sebasi School (www.sebasi.co.kr) or Onoff Mix (www.onoffmix.com).
