INNOPOLIS Foundation-KISTI leads radical reformation of INNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Company

- Foundation, begins to use external source to blossom the technical commercialization -

□ INNPOLIS Foundation(President Seong-Gwang Yang, hereafter 'Foundation') signed MOU for technical commercialization advancement with Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(President Hee-Youn Choi, hereafter 'KISTI').

ㅇ The deal includes ① use of 'global marketability evaluation model' of KISTI for technical evaluation of INNOPOLIS Research institute spin-off company and ② mutual share of INNOPOLIS companies' demanding technical information.

ㅇ The foundation promotes qualitative growth of INNOPOLIS companies by reinforcing business evaluation through this deal and connect KISIT's promising item based technical demand network for the first time to demander-centered technique seeking platform.

□ Foundation plans to improve INNOPOLIS companies' global marketability using the 'global marketability evaluation model'.

ㅇ Until now, INNOPOLIS companies had technology, but was under the impression that they suffer from difficulty of growth due to lowered marketability. Actually, the number of companies grew 3 times in recent 2 years from 160 in 2015 which requires solution for sustainable development through death valley since the beginning.

ㅇ This evaluation model is a market analysis tool which analyzes the competitiveness of certain product in global market and gives the result in number. Especially, it finds out how the optimal market competitiveness is secured by adjusting quality property, components, and price, and upgrade according to the result to help companies release products that the market wants the most.

□ Also, the foundation will run 'demander-centered technique seeking platform' for the vitalization of technical commercialization environment.

ㅇ Major contents of platform are seeking technique demander → demand upgradability consulting(designing business model etc) → matching demands of technique demander(technology transfer, investment, R&BD etc.).

ㅇ It is different from other business as it first seeks the needs of technique demander and solve it via various subjects and not just from single institute.

ㅇ The foundation plans to connect the fourth industrial revolution related promising items owned by KISTI to the platform.

ㅇ In the future, the demander network will be expanded and the needs of supplier, technical broker institute and purchaser will be added to the platform.

□ President Seong-Gwang Yang of the foundation said "There is a nee to build a system that efficiently connect using the resources built by many institutes as much as possible to reform the INNOPOLIS companies.” and “We will expand networks to enhance the platform.".
