MOU signed to vitalize Science Belt Sejong Function Zone

(INNOPOLIS Foundation - Sejong Metropolitan City)

- Function zone vitalization business cooperation including operation of SB plaza and science commercialization support -

□ INNPOLIS Foundation(President Seong-Gwang Yang, hereafter 'Foundation') has announced that it signed 『MOU for vitalizatino of science belt in Sejong Functino Zone』with Sejong Metropolitan City(Mayor Chun-Hee Lee, hereafter 'Sejong-si') on April 6th at Sejong City Hall Jiphyeonsil.

□ This MOU was signed as both parties agreed that there is a need to improve and vitalize Sejong Function Zone to create profit from Science belt, and to seek and implement various businesses and policy regarding △integrated support of science commercialization of fundamental research performance, △support science technology start- up and vitalization △creating science belt function zone's science commercialization ecosystem etc.

□ Also, the two parties agreed to manage and operate Sejong SB Plaza with specialty of the foundation in order to reach the business goal of science commercialization and effective operation of Sejong SB(Science Biz) Plaza, the main facility of the belt.

□ For this, the foundation and Sejong-si will seek business that fit the purpose of science belt business and SB Plaza, and expects SB Plaza to perform its function as to connect to creation of science based new industry in Sejong Function zone from the fundamental research performance created from the Science belt.

□ Especially, two parties plan to support building cooperation system between Science belt and INNOPOLIS to create stable growth foundation and to make Sejong SB Plaza the core facility of science commercialization.

□ President Seong-Gwang Yang of the foundation said "By building active cooperative relationship with Sejong-si, we will do our best to improve Sejong Function Zone such as creating high-quality jobs based on science and development of Sejong local industry centering around SB Plaza."
