□ On 19th, INNOPOLIS Foundation (President, Kim, Cha Dong) clarified that the Foundation signed 

     MOU  with Qatar Science & Technology Park for mutual support in connection with global technology 

     commercialization and creation, operation of science park.  

 ㅇ Before signing MOU ceremony, on 18th, Kim, Cha Dong, President of INNOPOLIS foundation,        

      discussed with Her Excellency Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser who is Chairwoman of the Board of Qatar 

      Foundation and mother of Qatar King over detailed mutual cooperation method relevant to operation 

      support of Qatar cience & Technology Park in connection with promotion method of global 

      commercialization including attraction of Qatar capital, entry into Qatar market of INNOPOLIS 

      enterprises and introduction of policy  supporting INNOPOLIS enterprises including research institute.

□ Major contents of MOU include ▲Strengthening linkage of global technology commercialization among     

   industry-academy-research institute sectors of both countries ▲Identifying issues of mutual concerns for 

   development, operation, management of science park and exchange of support service ▲Promotion of 

   training workshop for information sharing of science & technology park.

□ Promotion of this MOU was motivated by an occasion that at the time of visiting INNOPOLIS Foundation 

   by delegation of Qatar Foundation and Qatar Science & Technology Park on June, 2014, they expressed 

   their hope for mutual cooperation in creation of Korean type science & technology park (K-STP) model 

   and transfer of operation knowhow. 

 ㅇ Afterwards, on October, INNOPOLIS Foundation discussed with Qatar Foundation over detailed mutual 

     cooperation method and promotion of MOU signing at Qatar general assembly of IASP. 

 ㅇ Through sustained mutual exchange activity including participation of 2 relevant personnel of Qatar 

      Foundation and Qatar Science & Technology Park in 13th K-STP short-term training course* (October, 

      2014), on March, this year, LOI relevant to technology commercialization and creation, operation of 

     science park was concluded. 

   * 2-week training program comprising theory, practice of policy, operation knowhow relevant to science & 

     technology park and field observation

□ Afterwards, in order to implement practical business of LOI concluded on last March, INNOPOLIS 

   Foundation promoted a summit meeting with mother of Qatar King and MOU conclusion at the same time 

   by keeping pace with visit of mother of Qatar King to Korea. 

□ Kim, Cha Dong, Chairman of the Board of INNOPOLIS Foundation, clarified that "through conclusion of 

   MOU this time, a bridgehead for Qatar capital attraction of industry-academy-research institute in 

   INNOPOLIS and entry into the middle east market including Qatar was provided and it is expected that 

   through creation of Korean type science park (K-STP) and transfer of operation knowhow, Korean type 

   science park model would spread in the Middle East".
