- Daedeok INNOPOLIS's 50th Anniversary Slogan / Emblem Contest Award Ceremony -

The Korea Innovation Foundation (hereafter referred to as the Foundation) announced on the 26th that the Foundation held an awards ceremony for the slogan/emblem contest commemorating the “50th anniversary of Daedeok INNOPOLIS”

This contest was held from October 26th (Wednesday) to December 2nd (Wednesday), 2022, targeting the people of the Republic of Korea, with the theme of symbolic expression of the achievements of the past 50 years and the future vision for the next 50 years of Daedeok INNOPOLIS.

As for the number of applications, 1,863 slogans and 169 emblems were submitted. Ten items were chosen in a three-step screening process, including five cases for each category, including the grand prize.

  ○ A preliminary screening consisting of experts and faculty members within Daedeok INNOPOLIS and an online public screening were conducted for fair and objective selection. The final screening was performed with the participation of the 50th-anniversary promotion committee of Daedeok INNOPOLIS, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the city of Daejeon.

The grand prize was awarded to Ryu Jae-Phil, who submitted “50 years of Daedeok, 50 years connecting the future” in the slogan category, and Ko Jeong-Gon, who expressed the theme of “Korea’s future economy leader through innovation clusters” in the emblem category.

The emblem that won the grand prize symbolized that the industry, academia, and research institutes that makeup Daedeok INNOPOLIS are organically connected with lines and dots to form an innovation cluster under the banner of sharing and communication. Each color that makes up the emblem represents the diversity of Daedeok INNOPOLIS's members and various industries, presenting the future vision of the 50th anniversary with digitalized light.

Kang Byung-Sam, president of the Foundation, said, “As the works selected through this contest represent the meaning of the 50th anniversary of Daedeok INNOPOLIS, these works will be used in future projects and events related to Daedeok INNOPOLIS to expand public awareness of Daedeok INNOPOLIS, and we will try to create many opportunities to look back on our achievements with Daedeok INNOPOLIS.”
