□ INNOPOLIS Foundation(Chairman of the board, Yang Sung-kwang, expressed as INNOPOLIS Foundation henceforth) signed a business agreement(MOU) with Korea Technology Finance Corporation(Chairman Chung Yoon-mo,, expressed as 'KTFC' henceforth) on August 8, for the innovation growth of small and medium-sized enterprises based on public technology.
ㅇ The main contents of the agreement are as follows; ① preferential guarantee for INNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Company and high-tech companies, ② mutual contact(cooperation) support for the technology demand of both institutions, and ③ establishment of technology evaluation cooperation for research institutes.
□ Through this agreement, technology-based companies in Special Zones such as NNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Company* and high-tech companies** are expected to receive preferential guarantees such as preferential guaranteed rate and reduction of guarantee fees.
* NNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Company : A company established by a public research institute investing share of 10-20% or more in the Special Zone for the direct commercialization of public technology [Article 9.3 of the Special Zone Act, Article 13 of enforcement ordinance]
** High-tech companies : Occupants in special zones that produce and sell products in the field of technology that is technology-intensive and technological innovation speed is fast[Article 9 of the Special Zone Act, Article 12.3 of enforcement ordinance
ㅇ In the meantime, INNOPOLIS Foundation has supported Start-Up of Special Zone companies through equity-investment-type crowdfunding, microVC funds, public technology-based funds, and job creation investment funds.
ㅇ In the future, it will be possible to support Scale-Up of Special Zone companies by expanding support for investments and loans such as preferential guarantee through cooperation with KTFC.
□ In addition, NNOPOLIS Foundation 'demand-oriented technology search platform' that finds and matches the technology and commercialization demand of companies.
ㅇ When companies participate in the platform, they will receive support for demand-advancing consulting(BM development, etc.) → demand matching(technology transfer, investments and loans, overseas market expansion, R&BD, etc.).
ㅇ In the future, participating companies will be able to receive support for technology transfer intermediation and technology protection consulting from KTFC, as well as the support project from NNOPOLIS Foundation, by linking the 'Tech Bridge*' of KTFC to the platform,
* Tech-Bridge : As a platform operated by KTFC, it will bridge technology commercialization, such as technology transfer of small and medium-sized enterprises and establishment of INNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Company, and support technology financing.
□ INNOPOLIS Foundation plans to cooperate with KTFC in the field of technology evaluation so as to respond to the increase in the establishment of INNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Companies* and the extended enforcement of evaluation for technology transfer**.
* The number of new foundation of INNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Companies : 3 companies(2010) → 43 companies (2011) → 184 companies (2018)

ㅇINNOPOLIS Foundation has developed and applied its own evaluation model(ITEM *), which has been awarded a commendation(Technology Evaluation and Technology Finance Division) by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology in 2018, as it get credit for its professionality.
* ITEM(Innopolis Technology Evaluation Model) : A methodology enhancing Feasibility Study by using indicators that quantify the quality, function, and price characteristics of technology products.
ㅇ INNOPOLIS Foundation plans to respond to the increasing demand for technology evaluation through cooperation with KTFC and provide quality evaluation reports by continuously improving the evaluation model through information exchange such as technology evaluation methodology.
□ “We need to abandon the idea that we should do everything ourselves, and make the most of the resources we have already built and stored in many public institutions,” said Yang Sung-kwang, the chief director of INNOPOLIS Foundation.
