The Korea Innovation Foundation-KTL, holding hands to support INNOPOLIS SMEs Innovation Growth

- Active support for testing certification to promote commercialization of INNOPOLIS SMEs-

 

The Korea NNOPOLIS Foundation (President Yang Sung Kwang, hereinafter ‘Foundation’) and Korea Testing Laboratory (Chairman, Jung Dong-Hee, hereinafter 'KTL') announced that they had signed a MOU to support the innovative growth of SMEs through fostering INNOPOLIS on Tuesday, July 14.

 

About ten participants from the INNOPOLIS Plus Ansan, including Yang Sung-Kwang, president of the Foundation, Jung Dong-Hee, president of KTL, and others attended the signing ceremony, which was held as a detailed event for the first anniversary of the INNOPOLIS Plus Ansan

 

 

<Overview of INNOPOLIS Plus Ansan's' 1st Anniversary Performance Report and Meeting>

 

 

 

(Date) 14:00~16:00, July 14, 2020 (Tuesday) / Conference Room on the 2FL of the ERICA Main Building of Hanyang University (Ansan, Gyeonggi-do)

(Participants) About ten participants including Yoon Hwa-Seop, Mayor of Ansan city, Jeon Hae-Cheol, National Assemblyman, Yang Sung-Kwang, president of the Foundation, Jung Dong-Hee, president of KTL, etc.

(Purpose) To share achievements and promotion plans for the first anniversary designated as INNOPOIS Plus Ansan and discuss ways to promote INNOPOLIS Plus.

* INNOPOLIS Plus Gyeonggi Ansan (Designated on June 2019)

- INNOPOLIS Plus refers to a new, small and dense R&D zone centered on the core technology institutions located in the community such as universities, research institutes, and public organizations to supplement the limitations of the existing INNOPOLIS

- INNOPOLIS Plus Gyeonggi Ansan contributes to the local economy's vitalization by creating an ecosystem for public technology commercialization based on information and communication technology (ICT) convergence parts and materials, with the ERICA Campus of Hanyang University, a technology core institution.

Based on the business agreement between the Foundation and KTL;

 

Promised to establish a close cooperation system for innovative growth of SMEs in INNOPOLIS, including Test evaluation and domestic and international certification support for companies in INNOPOLIS to enter the market Discovering, linking, and commercializing corporate demand for testing and certification through INNOPOLIS projects Consulting, training, and finding new businesses in the field of testing and certification to foster companies in INNOPOLIS.

In the meantime, the Foundation has identified various difficulties in testing and certification fields such as lack of testing and certification information for new technologies and products in INNOPOLIS and the period required to obtain certification through on-site meetings and demand surveys.

* Find out through 1,267 surveys of corporate commercialization in INNOPOLIS (Jun. 2019~Jan. 2020) and on-site meetings with companies

 

Through this business agreement, both are expected to quickly support the commercialization of products that take into account test certification from the initial stage of products by SMEs in INNOPOLIS, so that SMEs' products can quickly enter the market. Meanwhile, the Foundation supports the entire cycle of research results and commercialization from “technology transfer-start-up-commercialization-growth” to foster an innovative ecosystem within INNOPOLIS,

 

It has been promoting a business that supports growth packages* tailored to corporate needs since 2018, also in the field of testing and certification.

 

* A growth package tailored to the needs of companies in the field of testing and certification

- Supports test analysis and certification package services necessary for growth support, such as commercialization, for INNOPOLIS Plus and foreign companies, including Analysis and certification for product reliability; Certification, authorization, etc. for the sale of products; Supporting the acquisition of intellectual property rights; Supporting expenses for joint utilization of research equipment.

 

In addition, KTL is a public testing and certification organization under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy that provides testing, evaluation, and calibration services in various fields in Korea, possessing a variety of technologies and accumulated know-how for 54 years in the testing and certification field.

 

Further, it is expected to provide customized technology services for SMEs in INNOPOLIS to enter the domestic and overseas markets, including providing consulting services to obtain overseas certifications based on business cooperation with 149 certification agencies in 56 countries around the world.

 

Yang Sung-Kwang, president of the Foundation, said,“This agreement enables rapid support in the field of testing and certification for 6,500 companies in 11 INNOPOLISes”

and “we will actively support SMEs in INNOPOLIS to secure technological competitiveness and enter the market early through cooperation between the two organizations.”

Jung Dong-Hee, president of KTL said, "we will actively cooperate to establish a win-win cooperation model that supports INNOPOLIS's innovative growth by combining core capabilities of both organizations," and

 

We will do our best by putting KTL's accumulated capacity of 54 years to contribute to solving the difficulties in the commercialization of SMEs in INNOPOLIS.
