Busan Innopolis to Hold Meeting for Sharing the Project Plan for Linking to and Cooperating for projects to be fostered in 2019

Busan Innopolis of Innopolis Foundation (hereafter Busan Innopolis; Director Oh Yeong-hwan) said that it held “Meeting for Sharing the Project Plan for Linking to and Cooperating for projects to be fostered in 2019 in Busan Innopolis” at Busan Global Tech-Biz Center (hereafter “B-TBC”) from 13:30 on Arp. 26, Fri., 2019 with a view to establishing a system for organic exchange and cooperation among the innovation agents and promoting the efficiency in the project implementation.

The meeting was attended by some 60 persons handling industry-university-research cooperation from 18 agencies that participated in the Innopolis fostering project.

The meeting was designed to create a systematic process which could reduce similar or redundant specific tasks and ensure mutual cooperation by sharing project plans, yearly schedules etc. with other project participating organizations prior to the full-blown implementation of the project.

The projects to be fostered in 2019 for Busan Innopolis are the project for discovering and linking technologies (1 bil. won), the project for creating business through technology transfer (5 bil. won), and the project for supporting research companies and start-ups’ growth, and about 8.6 billion won will be spent as customized supports mainly in the different stages of business growth and technology to business.

The meeting was attended by the working-level staff for the specific projects of the plan to discover research companies, support global acceleration, co-working space (I-Cube), and the project to operate innovation agents’ network which focused on figuring out cooperation plans for major issues such as technology discovery and transfer, technology to transfer, technology start-up, and business growth.

Especially, it included in-depth discussions designed to completement strategies to efficiently fulfill the related performance targets and minimize the blind spots involved in projects through sharing major performance targets, indicators, and timetables for the projects.

Looking ahead, the meeting also discussed the sharing of the quarterly implementation of the projects, the holding of year-end performance sharing presentations. This will boost the general efficiency of the fostering projects by reducing the unnecessary and redundant tasks and implementing projects that focus on core objectives of specific projects.

Taking as its hub B-TBC which was completed last October, Busan Innopolis will create an innovation ecosystem for technology to business by fulfilling the qualitative growth of the Innopolis fostering project and maximizing the synergy among the projects.

An official from an organization than attended the meeting said, “The venue was significant in that the innovation agents of Busan Innopolis got together and discussed cooperation plans through communication,” and added, “We will work to create synergy and ensure the continuation of intercomplementary relationships through close collaboration with other organizations that handle upstream or downstream operations in this year’s project.”
