- Over 190 Registrants from 49 Countries, Expected to Enhance Daedeok Innopolis's 50th Anniversary Prestige -

□ The INNOPOLIS Foundation (Chairman: Byeong-Sam Kang, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Foundation’) announced on the 29th that the Daedeok Innopolis, in collaboration with the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), will host the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference from November 1st (Wednesday) to 3rd (Friday) at the Grand Ballroom of the Onoma Hotel in Daejeon.

 

○ Founded in 1984, IASP (headquartered in Malaga, Spain) is an association of approximately 350 innovation cluster-related organizations from around 79 countries worldwide. It operates a total of seven regional divisions, including the Asia-Pacific region, to which Korea belongs.

 

□ This 2023 IASP Asia-Pacific Regional Conference will be held as a global conference in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Daedeok Innopolis.

 

○ The detailed sessions will primarily focus on reflecting on the past 50 years of Daedeok Innopolis and designing a vision for the next 50 years. The sessions are divided into key themes: ▲Global Exchange and Cooperation, ▲Regional Rejuvenation, and ▲Future Talent Development, with perspectives shared by major speakers from around the world.

 

□ This conference is particularly meaningful as it provides an opportunity to share the case of Daedeok Innopolis, which began as the Daedeok Research Complex in 1973 and has evolved into today’s innovation cluster, thereby showcasing Daedeok Innopolis’s status to over 190 science park professionals from 49 countries.

○ Furthermore, it is noteworthy that this conference connects perspectives on innovation ecosystems between developing countries like Vietnam and Thailand and developed countries like the United States and European nations, using South Korea’s innovation journey as a bridge.
