□ The Gwangju innopolis Headquarters of the innopolis Foundation (Director Byeong-Han Yoon, hereinafter referred to as "Gwangju innopolis") held the "Specialized Field Technology Convergence Council" on the 3rd at the Gwangju Innobiz Center to promote technological innovation in regional specialized fields.

 

ㅇ At this council, excellent researchers in related fields engaged in technical exchanges to build a patent convergence portfolio and plan new joint research in Gwangju innopolis’s four specialized fields: industrial application and innovative AI, advanced semiconductor packaging, AI convergence, and mobility design and electronic components.

 

ㅇ The first Mobility Technology Convergence Council focused on vehicle smart lighting, a strength of Gwangju innopolis. Researchers from six institutions, including Chonnam National University and Yeungnam University, discussed ways to commercialize patents.

 

ㅇ The second Semiconductor Package Technology Convergence Council shared the status of new technologies that need regional development and discussed key points for planning industry-academia-research joint research.

 

□ To foster specialized fields, Gwangju innopolis identified excellent researchers and companies through patent analysis in related fields and analyzed joint research status information by institution and researcher for joint research planning. Based on this information, Gwangju innopolis plans to continuously hold technology convergence councils where excellent researchers nationwide can exchange ideas for technology transfer through patent convergence and joint industry-academia-research projects.

 

□ Director Byeong-Han Yoon of Gwangju innopolis stated, "In the era of global science and technology competition, the convergence of leading regional technologies is necessary," and added, "We will strive to lead active technological innovation through joint research planning and patent convergence to spearhead regional innovation."
