Korea Innovation Foundation, held the launching ceremony of the Future Innovation Growth Research Group

- Established future new industry incubation system in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Daedeok INNOPOLIS -

 

□ The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Lee Jong-Ho, hereinafter ‘MSIT’) and the Korea Innovation Foundation (President Kang Byung-Sam, hereinafter Foundation) announced that they held the 「Daedeok INNOPOLIS Future Innovation Growth Research Group Launching Ceremony」 at the Innopolis room of the Foundation on the 1st.

 

 The Foundation, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the launch of Daedeok INNOPOLIS next year, introduced the Future Innovation Growth Research Group* to secure technological innovation competitiveness led by the private sector and establish a system for incubating new industries.

 

     *(Daedeok INNOPOLIS Future Innovation Captain Research Group) A research group to establish a company-centered industry-academic-research consultative body and to develop new industries that will lead regional innovative growth through cooperation among innovation actors and to prepare new industry-fostering programs

 

 The Society, composed of each sector, discovers “convergence-type future new industry fostering projects” and operates from this year to improve the regional innovation system based on this.

 

□ The newly launched group comprises a total of 4 research groups for each field. The Foundation has conducted environmental analysis such as regional innovation capabilities, interviews with innovative subjects, and the 1st and 2nd demand surveys. Through this, theme suitability, support validity, and proposal excellence were comprehensively considered in planning research groups in ICT, energy, bio, and semiconductor fields.

 

 The detailed themes for each research group include ▲K-Bio Equipment Field ▲Water AI Sewage Treatment System  ▲System Semiconductor Process Innovation Parts Equipment ▲AiX (Ai Edge Device Integrated Development Environment).

 

□ At the inauguration ceremony, mentoring was also conducted between the research group and mentors to monitor the research group's activities and support BM establishment, marketing, and IP strategy establishment.

 

□ The Future Innovation Growth Research Group will intensively promote future new industry theme planning and commercialization strategy establishment for about five months until April 2023, and the Foundation will hold the Future Innovation Growth Forum in April next year, sharing the results of the research group operation.

 

 In the coming year, Daedeok INNOPOLIS also plans to add new research groups by discovering industry-academia-research innovation subjects in aerospace, nuclear power, and defense through linkage with regional strategic industries.

 

□ Kang Byung-Sam, president of the Foundation, urged, “Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Daedeok INNOPOLIS has reached the time to take another leap forward through new initiatives and will continue to strive for regional innovation by establishing a Co-Innovation Alliance system, such as the Future Innovation Growth Research Group.”
