Seoul National University International students from 17 countries thumb up for INNOPOLIS companies!
- Exploring overseas markets of INNOPOLIS companies through regular lectures on global industry-university cooperation -
□ Korea Innovation Foundation (President Byung-Sam Kang) announced that it held a performance presentation on the 21st (Tuesday) to commemorate the end of the global industry-university-linked regular course opened in cooperation with the Seoul National University Global R&DB Center (Chairman Jun-Seok Hwang).
ㅇ Seoul National University's global industry-university-linked regular course (course name: Seminar on Emerging Technologies, 3 credits) provides 21 overseas public officials from 17 countries with 7 companies of INNOPOLIS to learn about the technology commercialization process and build a network for overseas expansion. Courses were provided. * Weeks 1~8: Sharing the status of INNOPOLIS and INNOPOLIS companies, Weeks 9~15: On-site visits and discussion of overseas expansion channels, etc.
□ The main feature of this global industry-academic cooperation course is that the 7 companies of INNOPOLIS wishing to advance into the overseas market and trainees from the countries they wish to advance into were matched to lead the course based on their mutual needs.
ㅇ It was possible to create synergy in both directions, such as enhancing the understanding of the startup ecosystem by international students through vivid experience in the field of technology commercialization and INNOPOLIS companies getting advice from international students on the local market.
□ As a result of 15 weeks of networking between INNOPOLIS companies and international students, meaningful results were also found that could be the first step in entering the overseas market.
ㅇ NARMA Inc (CEO, Kwon Ki-Jeong), an INNOPOLIS Research Institute Spin-off Company affiliated with the Aerospace Research Institute seeking to enter the African market, discovered a local market entry partner through an international student in Kenya and a drone delivery business with a local company connected through an Ethiopian student. Agreed to promote it jointly.
ㅇ AIRISS (CEO Kim Jung-mi), which possesses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to read dangerous goods, conducted B2G* demand survey that can support ODA from matched international students. In addition, international students from El Salvador will invite their ambassador to Korea to the International Security Industry Exhibition in which AIRISS participates in in October and arrange a meeting. They will present artificial intelligence reading technology and high-performance X-ray security screening technology.
* B2G (Business to Government): Transactions between a company and the government
□ Kim Jeong-mi, CEO of AIRISS, who participated in this training and built a foundation for overseas expansion, said, "It was difficult to sell in developing countries due to the high-priced product, but by linking with the international student network, we were able to discover government demands such as ODA." Thank you for the industry-university cooperation process.
□ Yodit Gebrealif Weldemehret, a former professor at Adama University of Science and Technology in Ethiopia, who participated in the regular course, said, "I discovered that there are many opportunities for cooperation in Ethiopia and Korea while conducting market research for NARMA Inc's entry into Ethiopia." After education, I will continue to serve as a bridge between Ethiopia and NARMA Inc."
□ President Kang Byung-sam of Korea Innovation Foundation said, "Through this course, INNOPOLIS companies and Seoul National University students could have deep exchanges." We will do our best to achieve meaningful results in overseas expansion."
